The Tunze DOC Skimmer 9410 It is a high-performance internal skimmer designed for marine aquariums up to 1000 liters. Silent, compact, and energy-efficient, it operates without complex adjustments thanks to the technology Tunze Hydrofoamer Silence 9410.040, generating optimal air/water mixing for constant and efficient skimming.

The system integrates a removable mechanical post-filter 300 µm, ensuring clear water while limiting the formation of nitrates. Ideal for heavily populated reef aquariums, the 9410 combines performance, simplicity, and reliability.

Sizing according to the biotope

The recommended volume varies according to the organic load and the sensitivity of the biotope:

  • Soft corals / LPS: without reduction
  • Mixed tank (LPS/SPS, filter feeders): −40% (1000 L → ~600 L)
  • Dominant SPS: -60% (1000 L → ~400 L)
  • SPS + numerous fish: -70% (1000 L → ~300 L)
  • Breeding tank with plankton: −70% (1200 L → ~360 L)

Hydrofoamer Silence Pump 9410.040

  • Air/water pump specially developed for skimming
  • Produces fine air bubbles (0.1 to 0.3 mm) for optimal contact
  • Ensure the water supply to the skimmer (900 l/h)
  • Consumption: only 11 W for 600 l/h of air

Posterior mechanical filtration

The 300 µm post-filter placed at the skimmer outlet improves the clarity of the water. Its structure limits biological effects and prevents the formation of nitrates, even over long periods of use. It can be filled with Activated carbon or anti-phosphate adsorbents.

Anti-Foaming Technology

The patented Anti Overfoaming system automatically regulates foam production according to the water's surface tension and organic load. It prevents any overflow from the container, ensuring autonomous, safe, and consistent operation.

Installation

  • Internal decanting assembly or technical compartment
  • No external piping or manual adjustment required
  • At least 10 cm of free space above to remove the container.
  • Recommended water level: 14 to 24 cm

Interview

  • Weekly cleaning of the skimmer basket and the post-filter
  • Rinse the pump and nozzle if there is a buildup of limescale.
  • Periodic air flow check to maintain performance
