Tunze DOC Skimmer 9430

The Tunze DOC Skimmer 9430 is a high-end skimmer for marine aquariums up to 3000 liters. Compact, powerful, and silent, it features the exclusive Anti Overfoaming System technology, which automatically regulates foam production based on the organic load of the aquarium.

Thanks to its optimized design and Hydrofoamer Silence pump, it ensures stable skimming, excellent aeration, and reduced energy consumption. It can be easily placed in any technical tank without special adjustments.

Anti Overfoaming System Technology

The DOC Skimmer 9430 uses a patented three-phase system that automatically regulates foam production:

  • Normal production: stable and regular foam in the reaction column.
  • Phase A (overproduction): excess foam, part of the bubbles is released.
  • Phase B (stabilization): automatic reduction of production until optimal balance is restored.

This system prevents any overflow of the cup and ensures stable performance, even during water parameter changes (product additions, feeding, etc.).

Operation and Design

The Tunze 9430 skimmer combines high efficiency and compact design, suitable for all under-tank filtration systems. The Hydrofoamer Silence pump simultaneously ensures air production (1400 l/h) and water circulation (1500 l/h), while guaranteeing nearly silent operation.

The dual-flow mixing chamber optimizes air-water contact, improving the capture of dissolved proteins. The internal cylinder guides the rise of bubbles and prevents microbubbles from escaping into the tank.

Complementary Filtration

The 9430 includes a removable mechanical post-filter made of 300 µm nylon fibers, which retains fine particles without promoting nitrate formation. It can also be used for placing additional filter media such as activated carbon or anti-phosphates.
